In an article published recently in the journal Phytotaxa, Barbara Makinder and Jan Wieringa announced the creation of a new taxon in the legume family, the genus Annea, named in honor of Anne Bruneau.
The authors chose to highlight Anne Bruneau’s expertise in the phylogeny of the sub-family Caesalpinioideae. The new genus, comprised of two species of shrub legumes, was created to distinguish two very distinct African species of the genus Hymenostegia.
