We are happy to announce that the recipient of the 2018 Marie-Victorin Excellence Award is Alexis Carteron, a Ph.D. student under the supervision of Etienne Laliberté. The selection committee has found that Alexis has very well described his research project in which he studies the role of mycorhizes in Southern Quebec maple stands. Besides having an excellent academic record since he started his Ph.D. in 2016 (publications, conferences, international projects), Alexis is very much involved in his research environment as well as in society in general.
The $5000 grant will be given to Alexis during the annual Célébrer les arts et les sciences (‘Celebrating Arts And Science’) event scheduled for Tuesday 20 November 2018 at the K500 amphitheater of the Roger-Gaudry pavilion.
Congratulations Alexis!
