Mohamed Hijri honored by the ADRIQ

At the third annual award ceremony of the Association pour le développement de la recherche et de l’innovation du Québec (ADRIQ, Quebec Association for Research Development and Innovation) held at Marché Bonsecours on May 17, Mohamed Hijri (fourth from left in photo) and his partners were honored with an award. The ADRIQ’s mission is to support and encourage technological innovation in Quebec. The IRBV, Biopterre and the Centre de recherche sur les biotechnologies marines (Marine Biotechnology Research Centre) and Premier Tech were joint recipients of the award, for their project on the development of genomic markers for identifying and quantifying endomycorrhizal fungi in inoculants and soil in the context of large parcels of agricultural land. The molecular markers developed through the project’s activities will contribute to optimal utilization of mycorrhiza and limit the use of chemical fertilizers in large-scale cultivation.
