Métabolisme primaire des plantes et sa régulation

THÉMATIQUES DE RECHERCHE


Nos principaux intérêts de recherche concernent la façon dont le métabolisme primaire des plantes est régulé. Les végétaux modifient leur métabolisme primaire dans des stratégies d’adaptation aux stress environnementaux. Nous nous intéressons donc au fonctionnement de la voie glycolytique en condition normale et en condition de stress ou de carence nutritionnelle. Nous cherchons à caractériser le rôle individuel de plusieurs enzymes clés du métabolisme primaire dans ces processus. Nous utilisons des tissus non photosynthétiques (racines, cultures cellulaires) comme principal modèle d’étude. Notre laboratoire utilise différentes approches comme la purification et la caractérisation des propriétés cinétiques des enzymes, la génération et l’étude de plantes transgéniques, la quantification de métabolites à grande échelle, l’étude de l’expression des protéines et des gènes, ainsi que l’utilisation de traceurs métaboliques in vivo et la quantification de métabolites végétaux. Nous étudions aussi la régulation des enzymes du métabolisme primaire par des mécanismes de phosphorylation et par l’intermédiaire d’interactions protéine-protéine.
