Following the selection process for the position of director of the IRBV, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Joly, botanist at the Montreal Botanical Garden and associate professor at the Département de sciences biologiques of the Université de Montréal, to title of director of the Institute. Mr. Joly officially took office on 1 October 2022 following the signing of an employee loan protocol with the City of Montreal.

As special advisor to the director since 2018, Simon Joly has had the opportunity to familiarize himself with the files and he has demonstrated all the qualities and vision necessary to lead the IRBV in the collaborative spirit of his predecessors.
