IRBV graduate conducting research in the Amazon forest

Mathieu Chouteau, who completed his M.Sc. at the IRBV in 2007 (supervised by Denis Barabé), is on a postdoctoral fellowship in Peru, in collaboration with the National Natural History Museum (Paris). He received his doctorate from the Département de sciences biologiques of the Université de Montréal, for his dissertation on the evolutionary role of color patterns in Ranitomeya imitator, a tiny frog native to the Amazon forest. His current research focuses on the role of polymorphism in tropical butterflies.
